Foucault Fragment #2 à la BNF

From what seems to me Foucault’s rewritten introduction to the History of Sexuality, still as the second volume, around 1981. We can see MF’s obsession with the elephant in this draft 🐘

From MF’s draft for /Gouvernement de soi et des autres/, his c. 1982 book on Greco-Roman ethics of the “High Empire” (notably 1-2nd centuries CE):

“Nous sommes de toutes façons sous cette puissance d’autrui. Mais c’est là où doit intervenir le travail sur nous-mêmes: nous devons nous préserver à tous ces malheurs éventuels, en nous prenant bien conscience que nous ne sommes nous-mêmes rien de ces choses qui font notre statut.”
